My Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 is now about 3 years old. It's comfortable and easily programable for lots of functions. I get about 60 days from a set of AA's. Lately, though, I've found the mouse erratic. Low signal strength pops up once or twice a day and the mouse becomes all but useless. I've removed any RF devices from around the unit including my cordless phone. I can't figure out what makes the signal strength deteriorate like that. Any ideas

I think there is something wrong with your mouse. I get close to a year on batteries.
I did have one die on me - the type with the big pad looking thing for a transmitter with the usb cord, vs the new ones with a little unit that plugs into the usb. When it died it did the same thing yours did.
I'd vote for replacement.

I was having this problem and my son suggested I move the receiver over a few inches. I thought he was nuts, but it solved the problem.
But two months on a set of batteries doesn't sound right. |

I get a couple months out of mine, but that's using rechargeable in everything. And having to swap the batteries a few more times a year is a little more appealing than buying $5 a pair.

Still no help with the Wireless Intellimouse. Moving the receiver doesn't work, resetting the mouse and receiver works for about 10 minutes, reinstalling the driver and software did nothing. I think I'll just give up. |

Did you recently change the color of the desk that the mouse sits on? Try placing a clean white sheet of paper underneath it. |

I've been using the same mousepad for 3 years, but thanks for the input. |
