Connecting iMac to a TV which only supports S video cable

Is it possible to use my mini-DVi video to VGA adapter and a VGA to S video cable together to run internet
on my TV monitor?

it should be ok, although picture quality wont be great any text will appear grainy and difficult to read through s-video, its fine for watching movies at a distance but no good for web browsing etc even on an lcd or plasma display the quality is not great
