Sharp TV turns itself off

My almost new Sharp LCD TV will turn itself off periodically for a few seconds then it comes back on by itself.

It also will go to a screen with vertical lines but the sound stays on. In this case we have to turn it off for a few minutes to get it to work right again.

if its almost new contact sharp direct it will still be under warranty they should send out a repair tech to investigate or they will just give you an rma where you can take it back to where you purchased it
