Today I put a disc into my Iomega Zip 250 drive and realized that the computer is no longer recognizing that drive. I did all the usual things
Checked the USB connections
Changed USB cable
Changed ports
Rebooted the computer
Reinstalled the Iomega software
The device manager doesn't list my Zip drive.
I agree with lots of folks that Zip is a somewhat outdated device but........I have a lot of info on Zip discs and would love the opportunity to redirect it to another storage device.
Any help out there?

Hi, rj7500:
If this is a USB device, it might be a drive letter conflict. Try removing all other USB devices, uninstalling your USB controller in device manager, then reboot, and plug the zip drive in again. |

Thanks Osprey, I'll try your solution. One quick question....you suggest removing the USB Controller from the Device Manager, does it reinstall itself after the reboot?
Oh......and what is a Hokey?

How does one remove the USB controller from the Device Manager. I don't see that option when I open it.

You select the device and click the uninstall button. |

My apologies Osprey, I seem to have misread your earlier post. What you're saying is that I should uninstall all USB devices from the USB Controller, then reboot and they will reinstall themselves, hopefully including the Zip 250 drive.
Thanks for your patience

Oh well.......thanks for trying to solve my problem but uninstalling other devices did not help and only caused more problems.
