AOL conflict with Outlook 2003???

I have checked my "facts" a dozen times, reloaded the email setup the same. I will diagram:
imap.aol.com to send
smtp.aol.com to receive
passwords, email address are all right, all of the advanced items are good, outgoing server at 587.

I'm not an expert by ANY stretch so let me ask this: I use Road Runner/Time Warner for my internet service. I have TW if there's a conflict but I don't quite trust their answer. Can you help me?
Thanks,
Rich Wright

You didn't mention what the conflict is??? Or what happens when you try to send and receive.

Use Outlook with AOL e-mail

I'm sorry. I not certain there is a "conflict". When I press send/receive Outlook goes through the function, and DOES send, does NOT receive although it completes the function and says so. Very strange.
