windows 7 internet problem

everytime i log onto my computer i have problems with my internet connection.
i am using windows 7. i turn on my router and log into my pc and i get a warning by the internet icon in the tray area saying unidentified connection. then i run the trobleshooter
several times. i disable and then enable my network card several times. after a few minutes of doing this my internet comes on and works great. does anyone know why it does this,
help would be appriciated. thanks

What happens when you turn the router on a few minutes before turning the pc on?

i have tried turning on my router several minutes before turning on my pc and still have the same problem . I know it is not my router because the downstairs computer runs windows 7 and connects to the internet fine. I have had windows 7 on my computer for months and have never had this problem until now. should I try installing windows 7 again or should i try installing windows vista?

anyone have an answer for this? I have a new laptop with 7 and it will not connect to the internet until I reset the router. That does me no good at a hotel or restaurant.

An aged old Windows issue is that the network adaptor has a power saver feature that is enabled by default. Turning that feature off in device manager is known to fix many an issue

The unit will not connect to the internet on an unsecured wireless network unless I can reset the router. Brand new machine that is worthless for hotels and restaurant wireless.
