EW192aa aka Sonix SN9C102 aka CIF single chip USB webcam
Folks,
I have gone the rounds, downloading at least one dozen drivers which supposedly are compatible for this little webcam and am getting No Joy.
OS = Win2000 sp4
HW = HP EW192aa including driver disk
As noted, the webcam came with the HP driver disk and it installed without incident the first time the device was connected.
Disconnected it to do some maintenance and now the device is not recognized and trying to reinstall using the driver disk results in an error message to the effect that the driver subdirectory has incorrect syntax or is incorrectly named.
Other attempts at self help:

The driver appears to install correctly, but upon the webcam being plugged into the USB port, it gives the standard device detected, then an error as to the 'driver not being assured by MS - do you want to install anyways?'
Yes - the a question as to 50 HZ or 60 HZ area, click to okay and finalize install when you get a "Code 28, the Driver was not installed" error message.
NOTE: I have tried completely uninstalling the original drivers and any subsequently-loaded drivers and the result is the same.
NOTE2: And yes, I uninstalled the drivers and unplugged the device before installing the subsequent attempts at loading drivers, then plug in the device.
Thoughts?
