monitor, keyboard disconnected???

I have a compaq presario sr1230nx. it's about 5 years old. Just bought a power supply a couple months ago and now, I left it on overnight - worked fine yesterday. Now I go to use it and monitor says "no signal", keyboard won't work and mouse does't help. The front power light is orange (which I believe means it's in standby) and can't get it out of that. All of these units are usb connected. I've shut off the computer, restarted, shut it down gain and disconnected main power and all components, re-connected them and restarted and nothing works still. What else can I do??

It sounds like the GPU (graphics card) has died. The fact that the monitor is on, but in 'Standby' mode means that it isn't getting a signal.

I'm not the best at suggesting specific parts to go for, but I'm sure that some of the ones who know what they're talking about will be in/on here to give some advice soon... When I get on one of my computers (I'm using my BlackBerry at the moment) I'll see if I can get one or two of them to have a look...
