PowerPoint Trouble
Ok, I'm not completely computer-savvy, so please bear with me.
I have a PowerPoint slideshow I need to edit. I got it off of my teacher's Mac at school and put the file onto a USB. We tested opening it up from the USB on her computer at school and it worked fine. I have Windows at home, and I tried to open up the file, and I keep getting a window popping up in PowerPoint saying that it can't open the file represented. It's a .ppt file, so I'm not really sure what's going on. Is there any way I can open the file, or am I stuck? Any help would be great. =)

If you don't have Powerpoint, and don't want to buy a copy, just download Open Office.org
It has an equivalent program that works on Powerpoint documents
.

Yeah, I have PowerPoint on this computer. One of the other things I'm worried about is that if I do manage to get the file to work on here, will I still be able to open the file on the Mac?
And thanks for the welcome. =)

Sorry, I didn't notice that it was created on a Mac, and only vaguely know the problem, but this will give you a little insight.

I took a look at the site, but the only thing that really looks like it could possibly be causing the problem would be that the file name has spaces in it.
I'm running Windows XP and I've got PowerPoint 2007, and with the way the file saved it looks like she's got 97-2003 on hers. Don't know if that helps at all.
If it can't be fixed then I'll just work on the file on the Mac. No biggie.

Even though a Mac was the very first computer I ever used, at least 30 years ago, I know nothing about them, but this sight is very deep in talent.
Sometimes it will take a few days for the right member to see your post.
try bumping your post tomorrow, if you don't get an answer tonight.
I have no doubt that several members know exactly what you need.
I just picked up a free IMac, but just barely started to play with it. I know it is old, but so far I'm not impressed.

I was hoping I would be able to fix it for tonight, as I need the presentation for tomorrow, but I can do it all on the Mac tomorrow. I'm just kind of picky about using a mouse as opposed to that finger-pad thing on notebooks/laptops/etc.
I'm still curious as to why this is happening, though, so I will try and get an answer so I know for the future. Thanks very much for your input. I appreciate the help. =)
