Think it would be worth upgrading to 64 bit for another 1.3gig or ram? Would it be noticeable in performance? Im not crazy about doing it since I just got my pc hooked up and all program back. From what I understand if I install the 64 bit I will need to reinstall all the app and what not, you can't just transfer them when installing the 64bit
next step. I plan to overclock but the problem with alot of the cpu coolers keep hanging over my ram slots and I would prefer to keep them "unblocked". I can't find the dimensions of the stock cpu cooler to compare with cooler that will fit. I got like a 1/4" to spare with the stock cpu cooler.
February 1st, 2010, 01:34 PM #123In the past we have reviewed just a few Ultra power supplies and while we have actually tested quite a few, not all survived long enough on the test bed. Unfortunately more than one of their flashy power supplies have failed to live long enough for us to actually put a review together. This is highly unusual and this kind of reliability is not something anyone would wish to associate with a power supply. While we have found some models to be very poor, others have been excellent and we believe this is because not all Ultra power supplies are made equally, at least not all models.
here is an excellent example of why I avoid Ultra... (there are MANY like this, if not more scathing, in their assessment)
they are notorious for making beautiful boxes for PC destroying bombs...
they may have recently started using slightly better manufacturers, but until they reliably turn out quality units, without resorting to corner cutting, I wont recommend them.
For the money, you can find MUCH better options that wont destroy your other components.
I also cant find one legitimate review for that model of Ultra...
Most places wont touch them for testing, due to the hazard of testing equipment being ruined when they explode...
You've been duly warned, I wont harp on it anymore...
