If the BIOS lets you BOOT from USB it will BOOT, unless there is something else wrong.
A hard drive is not necessary to BOOT a PC, in the old days we didn't even have hard drives, we ran completely on floppies.

Here ya go. Internal Downloads | Seagate
Try Seagate tools. Edit: Hard drive not working after a drop is almost always, a dead hard drive.
It's mechanically broken probably.
There are laptops that lock the hard drive when it senses a drop, to save the drive, but I don't know anything about them.
I'm skeptical as to whether they realty work though, and I doubt you have one.

I saw that, but since the change took place after a drop, I suspected the HD.
always7777, did you make any changes in the BIOS to the boot order, or did it ever boot from a network? Edit: I would think, if it did not find a network it would go to the HD, just like it skips over the Floppy or CD drive with no disk, if it is first in the boot order.
It's worth checking though.

so that must be just because he has it set to boot from other devices,
but this is a desk top, seems to me I had a laptop doing the same thing but it would not revert back to hard drive it would just show the PXE boot failed, but I could be wrong laptops are all different and mine was a dinosaur |

Yep, even desktops are all different.
I know when I think I have a symptom nailed as to the cause, the next time I see it, it is a completely different cause. |

you should just be able to disable the boot other devices option, or disable PXE boot |
