| Internet very slow since updating AVG from 8.5 to 9
I installed the updated AVG last night. Since then, our internet access (FIOS) has been extremely slow. I thought it was just me but my wife is complaining about not being able to access certain sites and overall sluggishness today.
Anyone else seen a problem? |

Sorry, this was on our shared computer, so both of our accounts are impacted.
This is AVG free and I also use ZA free. |

I ditched AVG and installed Avast and everything seems to be good. |

I upgraded to 9 and now IIS is slow and Visual Studio 2008 hangs a lot. I am going to try and uninstall and go back to 8.5 and see if it fixes it. |

I am not 100% sure, but here is what I did:
Disabled link scanner (and right clicked to ignore the state).
For the past 1/2 hour, I have had no problems with IIS and Visual Studio debugging, like I was having every 2 or 3 runs before.
So, I think if you disable the link scanner, it will work. |

It appears to be a problem with the LinkScanner. |

I can't use NORTON before because my RAM was only 338mb .. now I bought an HP comp. with 2gb a hard disk of 320gb and processor of INTEL dual core(2.6 GHz.) and it went fine with NORTON.. can anyone here tell me if NORTON is a better choice?
Thank you guys! |

Guys, more RAM does not solve this sort of problem.
Anyway, Avast seems to be doing just fine. |
