hard drive problem

I have a dell dimension 1100. It was working fine when I left home office, when I returned, screen was blank, so I rebooted and nothing happened. I hear a steady beeping noise coming from hard drive. I booted system with os disc and got into diagnostics. system says no hard drive installed. On back of computer I get a,b,c led lights light up green and d led lights up yellow HELP!!!!

Sounds like the system is telling the truth. Sometimes replugging the cables for the drive (at the drive, and also at the mobo) can help.... but on a system that has not been moved, its not likely that a cable could come loose.
Don't know what the a,b,c led's mean on your computer.

Unfortunately the error, 'green, green, gree, yellow' is basicly something is wrong but it does not know what....

Anyways.... Are you sure its a beeping noise from the hard drive, they dont make beeping sounds (mabye grinding or clicking).

You will probably need to replace the drive with a new one as it sounds like it has died if it is not beng picked up.
