    My computer screen goes black and my computer freezes up at the same time!

     
    My computer runs fine for at the most 2 or 3 hours at a time. But usually, it stops working, freezes up and the screen goes black within the first 10 minutes of starting up. It doesn't matter what I'm doing.

    On my computer, I am using windows vista home premium, an old monitor(which works fine and has a good picture), NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE for graphics, and an AMD Athalon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor 5000+. It's a desktop computer, so the laptop battery trick won't work for this thing.

    Can anyone help me?

    How do you know the computer is freezing up? More info on the chain of events would help. What apps are running when this happens?
