Another beeping motherboard, update, still ??
I just recently got a new processor and new motherboard. I swapped them with my old ones and installed the old ones in a spare case I had. I basically converted it back to its oem state. OEM hard drive, cpu, ram, psu, and motherboard. Only thing new is case, fans and cpu heatsink. I have checked the beep codes for the bios. It has Award bios. I get one short and then one long beep. I can't find any info on this pattern. I found one long, one short, but that is not what I am getting. I have tried a new psu. The ram was working yesterday as well as everything else. I just tried another known good cpu and same beeps. The computer turns on fine, all fans working and it will run as long as I can stand the continuous beeping pattern of one short, one long 5 second pause, one short, one long, 5 second pause, etc. I know posts about beeping motherboards get asked on a regular basis and could have been avoided with a simple google but I can't find anyone else that has had this pattern of beeps. Thanks

Your right I've seen nothing for that exact code. However, a few web pages I checked, stated that if your code is not listed it is more than likely a ram problem. So I would test the ram and see if they are right.

I will try to get some new RAM I guess and try that. I didn't even remove the RAM when I swapped cases, not sure what could have happened to it. Thanks.

So I bought some new DDR2 for my gaming pc and put its RAM in the TV pc. And yes I have been told running unmatched RAM isn't the best but I did it for years with this very same mobo and cpu. Heres what I am getting now. I put 2gb in slot A, 512mb in slot B. PC boots up boots up but is only seeing 512mb of RAM (and Vista pretty much says hell no on 512mb. I try switching them around 512 in slot A, 2gb in slot B. Will not boot back to beeping. I try just the 2gb by itself in each slot, no boot, back to beeping. I try the 512 in each slot, no boot, beeping. I am guessing I have damaged the motherboard during the transfer.

Seems an ideal build for gaming PC. Invest fairly on processor and graphics card to deliver high performance. Take a look on Gigabyte stuff too.
Some help building a PC?
