    Ethernet Cat6 Cable Colors?

    Hi,

I need a new Cat6 Ethernet cable (I assume Cat6 is the newest?) to hookup my Xbox360 in the basement. Now I have a question involving the pricing that I can't figure out.

Why are the prices in the picture below different? Maybe a brief Cat6 explanation?

Link Depot C6M-100-BUB 100 ft. Cat 6 Blue Network Cable Item #: N82E16812189039Return Policy: Standard Return Policy

$21.99 select item 2 quantity of item 2

Link Depot C6M-100-GYB 100 ft. Cat 6 Gray Network Cable Item #: N82E16812189041Return Policy: Standard Return Policy

$18.29 select item 3 quantity of item 3

Link Depot C6M-100-WHB 100 ft. Cat 6 White Network Cable Item #: N82E16812189042Return Policy: Standard Return Policy

$24.99 select item 4 quantity of item 4

Link Depot C6M-100-RDB 100 ft. Cat 6 Red 550 MHZ Network Cable Item #: N82E16812189093Return Policy: Standard Return Policy

    $13.49

There are many more colors than this and I don't know why the prices differ. I have a Gigabyte Router and Modem so that is why I wanted a Cat6 Cable. Also is 100FT too long or will I lose latency time due to length, its about 63 Feet in length to my basement but 50/100 was all I could find.

What cable is best for the fastest gaming / file streaming?

The colors mean absolutely NOTHING. It's shielding that makes the difference. Colors merely help contractors distinguish which one they're pulling across the ceiling tiles.

The latency has nothing to do with length, and 100' is no big deal for network cable.
