Was there more to the error message that looked like this:
Error when you try to send an e-mail: We’ve noticed some unusual activity in your Hotmail account.
Error when you try to send an e-mail: We’ve noticed some unusual activity in your Hotmail account.
Do you use the Hotmail account OFTEN? Microsoft will close the account if it has been inactive.
Is your account name PammyBabe? If so - it maybe blocked due to the huge amount of Porn Spam that hotmail gets.. I'm not saying that you're into Porn, but the name might not sit well with them.Last edited by Steve R Jones; May 27th, 2011 at 07:20 AM.

This was the first page after we tried to log in to the hotmail account.
Your account has been blocked
Why are you seeing this?
Someone may have used your account to send out a lot of junk messages (or something else that violates the Windows Live Terms of Service).
We're here to help you get your account back.
What do you need to do?
We'll walk you through a few steps to verify that you own the account, then have you change your password in case someone else has been accessing your account. It should only take a few minutes and then you'll be unblocked and on your way.
We've cleaned your account settings
Often customers get here because someone else has access to your account and are using it without your knowledge to send spam. To protect you and your contacts, we've removed any Hotmail auto-replies or linked accounts you may have had.
The next page was the verification code as explained before.
It is not my account so does not have user name pammybabe.
The hot mail account was used last week without any problems.

As I said when the page for verification code comes up it displays an email address where it wantsto send the code. This email address does not exist and it will not let you change it.
Have tried to go into the email addresss it shows on hotmail but then it says 'incorrect address- email does not exist'

Same Hotmail problem
Hi guys, I had exactly the same message, I been trying to get on for the last hour with no luck using Google Chrome. So I just tried IE9 and it allowed me to change my password, and then access my account. I am now accessing fine in Chrome too.

same problem
I can't log in to my hotmail account for 3 days now.
When I log in my hotmail account, I only see these words as in the screenshot link: http://i.imgur.com/QK78x.png
On that page as seen in the screenshot above, I clicked continue button, it sends a code to my alternate email address but I can't log in to my alternate email address to get the code because my alternate email address (used when registering my hotmail account) doesn't exist. I've also changed my password by providing my secret answer, but still I can't log in and it says my account is blocked. My password is correct then, but it still need to send to my alternate email address to get the code to unblock my hotmail account.

found cause for hotmail account closure/blocking 4/13/12
i found that my account was blocked/locked by hotmail because some m_f_ s__ with nothing to do decided to hack in to it and send out so-called job offers to multiple persons. this happened on 4/13/12. if you found yourself blocked around that time, you may also be a victim. so i suggest you contact hotmail and ask them if that is the reason you were locked out. Replies for those so-called jobs were directed to be returned to job@cbjobsmail.com.

hotmail
Hi all, was wondering if anyone could help me. My Hotmail account was hacked and so was banned by hotmail, unfortunately the email it is linked too that it sends the code to, I have no idea what the password is and it seems it has also been hacked as the security question is in Spanish… -.-
that can be solved as I am trying to get the password back by filling in details. The problem now is that when I log into my main email it comes up with the 1st screen where it informs me of being banned, but when I click continue it takes me to this site:
https://account.live.com/security/Er...ty/Aci.aspx/A2
and displays this message:
Server Error in '/security' Application.
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->
<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>
Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->
<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>
Really need help as its linked to my student finance which has to be completed soon. I have tried on 3 different computers and with 3 different browsers including IE, Chrome and FF and have no idea what to do, can anyone help me please? Much Appreciated.

Pretty plain and simple you have to contact Hotmail directly for support. If going though the password, or unblock account feature doesn't work then uoi need to start a thread on their support forums and wait for someone from MS to contact you
