    Acer Travelmate TM8371 dead screen

     
    A friend of mine has this laptop with a dead screen.

    Laptop runs OK with external monitor.

    Problem started gradually with a dark patch in the bottom right corner. This could be temporarily "cured" by jiggling the laptop around gently. Eventuall though the entire screen is black.

    Does this sound like an inverter, lamp or panel issue?

    Inverters either work or they do not. I'd lean towards panel.

    I'm no expert though.

    That was my guess. I assume the same would apply to the lamp - it would either work or not.

    Replaced the panel and all is now working. Thanks for the input.

    Where did you get your Screen

    Did you get the replacement screen at Screentekinc or Humptydumptyservice?
