Can't connect to internet after power cut.
I've got the power cut while PC was running (w7). After rebooting I'm not able to connect to the internet anymore.
In Device Manager, under Network Adapters there is a "Realtek PCIe GBE..." device properly installed.
But under Other Devices there are now more entries with exclamation mark:
- Network controller
- Multimedia controller
- PCI Communication controller
I tried updating the drivers, then deleting and reinstalling but no success so far. Still can't connect to the internet.
The browser can see the router, at 192.168.1.1
I don't know where the problem is.

I'm quite puzzled, I'd appreciate any ideas about what I could do.
Thanks

Have you got an onboard device that you aren't using? I.e have you got a network card and network inbuilt to the motherboard too? If so go into the bios and disable the onboard device.

Are you using a static ip address? Right now you dont have a default gateway so the computer doesnt know how to forward traffic to the internet.
If you are using a static ip address put in 192.168.1.1 for the default gateway
If you are using DHCP, your DHCP server doesnt look like its handing out a default gateway to DHCP clients.

No, I don't use a static IP.
So does this mean that the router has a problem? How should I repair the DHCP server..?

Do an ipconfig /release then an ipconfig /renew and then post your ipconfig /all
this will release the ip address you have, then try to renew it from the DHCP server

GroundZero3, thanks for the patience.
I've done that (pconfig /release -> an ipconfig /renew -> ipconfig /all) and here's the result; still can't connect to the net...

I could finally get connected to the net, hopefully not only temporarily!
What I did was enter the following instruction at the cmd prompt:
netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log
This reset the IPv and apparently solved the problem, hopefully not only temporarily.
Now the default gateway is not 0.0.0.0 any more.
Anyway, thanks a lot for your support.
