1000 mbs vs, 100mbps
Would the gigabit speed be necessary or better for using Neflix or Hulu ?

I would say 1000 only because its more that you have. You could be on facebook, youtube, and netflix and still be running without being slow. But I'm no expert, just using my common sense.

Absolutely not. Netflix maxes out around 5-8 megabits depending on what device you are using to stream. The biggest factor will be how fast your downlink is from your ISP.

Gigabit networking for the most part only comes into play when you are sharing files, streaming videos ect across your own network. Most ISP's don't even come close to touching the 100Mbps your WAN port uses.
And again that is only for your wired devices, your wireless devices are still limited to their own speeds.

Yeah, what he said. Gigabit Internet only works for your network not the Internet.

Still wouldn't matter for Netflix or Hulu, which is the topic here.
