That is your 110/220 switch, not sure why you'd switch it not knowing what it does or it it might harm your computer but hey I guess some of us are just naturally curious.
If you are in the US it needs to be set to 110v (or 115v if that is what it says) If you are in the UK/Asia ect then it would be set higher. Basically its the standards adopted for in home wiring.
What's wrong with your computer? With what little details you've given its hard to say.
Is this a new computer?
What is the make and model or specs if you built it?
Has it ever worked right?
How is it connected to your TV?

A friend of mine gave it to me because he said it didn't work so I don't think its new. I don't know what model it is. I connected it to my tv with a vga cable and I'm in the us.

Sadly its going to be really hard to give any troubleshooting advice towards a system that is already know to be bad without knowing any of the details about the system or what the initial problems or indication might be. We'd just be blindly stabbing in the dark.
Perhaps you could ask the person you got it from what the problems were that led up to "not working". Maybe they could even give you some insight as to what the make and model of the computer is or any of the details on the specifications.

or implement some of that curiosity and open the PC up and find the info for the PSU, and Motherboard Model at least.
even take some good and clear pics of the outside, inside, etc of the PC and post so we can take a look at it that way, maybe provide some small bit of insight into what may be in the case.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

It doesn't work?? Well thats this solved then...
Could be anything really - disconnect ALL the hardware apart from the bare essentials, CPU/RAM etc... all drives can be unlpugged, all cards can be pulled too, leaving only video card, try that...
If it starts now, add one piece at a time till it fails again.
Did you friend build it or is it a bought PC?Last edited by thelonegunman; July 3rd, 2012 at 08:43 AM.
