size of hard disk

after formatting a hard disk what will be size of it? will it reduce or remain same whats the reason?

Your questions have a lot of holes in them.

We cannot answer what size it would be without knowing the actual size of the drive first off. Secondly, it all depends on the format you are formatting them in. FAT32, ntfs, etc.

Whatever shows up on the computer now is what you'll have after the reformat...that number doesn't change.

I believe what you're thinking about is the advertised capacity of a HDD versus the actual capacity (actual is always smaller)...for the specifics, you can check out Taxmancometh's link.
