    AC adapter for Toshiba Laptop

I have a toshiba satellite laptop M305-S4910 that runs on 19 V and 3.95 Amp. Recently I purchased a new AC adapter that outputs 19V, but 6.32 Amp. Will this difference in Amp hurt my laptop? I contacted the Toshiba and they said the adapter is a 120W global replacement which will work fine with your laptop. Could u help me with this issue.?

The higher current rating means it can more easily supply the power needs of your laptop with less strain on itself. It should be a good replacement. Why did you not believe the Toshiba people? The only problem you might have is if the plug into the laptop was wrongly sized or polarized. If the supply was from Toshiba, then that should be fine.

F me! did you just copy and paste that chit?

Your adapter will be fine. The only thing I'd worry about is the polarization like Paul9 mentions. With electricity you can have a lot of amps or current, but if you increase the voltage then you will fry the electronic hardware.
