how does it work.and what is the difference btn aprimary domain controller and adomain naming system in tems of functionality.

PDC does use authenication and can do local and public DNS resolutions (looks up public websites on the internet or local computer names) A DNS server just does DNS resolutions (looks up public websites on the internet)
