    first boot on new pc, nothing happens....

     
    just today i finnished my new pc build:

    asus sabortooth z77
    intel i5 3570k
    silverpower 750W
    corsair vegence 8gb
    ozc agility 4 128gb
    (have no video card yet)

    when i try to turn it on, i hear a little click sound coming from the powersuply, and nothing more happens. my monitor is showing a black screen, and the fans aren't spinning or nothing.

    i hope you guys can help me.

    never heard of Silverpower for a Power supply, sounds like a cheapo brand name.

    I know of SILVERSTONE, but not the other name.


    Make sure all your Power connectors are plugged in.

    20+4 Pin Main ATX, 4+4 Pin or 8 Pin EPS/ATX 12V supplementary connector.

    if there is a switch on the back of the PSU make sure that it is switched to the appropriate voltage for your region.

    Make sure there are no Motherboard standoffs touching the back of the mobo shorting things out.


    Take the board out and test it powering on, on a non conductive surface.

    Try testing with minimal hardware configs, starting with one stick of RAM, and test each stick.

    make sure the RAM is installed in the right slots.

    That click sound could be the power supplies circuit breaker, doing what it is supposed to.

    This would tie in with Shyguys shorting, check and test.

    If that is the brand of power supply, you have have a big unknown in your testing.
