if i put CL4 ram in my computer and its not compatable, will it clock down to CL5?
just like the title says. also if i get CL4 ram and its not compatable will it not work at all? (its DDR2 ram at 667Mhz)

Welcome to TechIMO!
Let me start by saying any RAM can be incompatible, though increasingly rare.
Generally latency makes no difference, and will lower to the lower one, or set it manually to the lower one.
Even mixed clock speeds usually clocks down to the lower speed,as well.
