Crysis only running 7-35FPS. Why?
Computer is connected via DVI-HDMI adapter to a 25.5in 1080p/1920x1200 LCD TV/Monitor. ~70'F in my room. Latest drivers to my knowledge. Ill double check. Running the original Crysis.
GPU dump file while running Crysis is below specs. After first play Windows asked me if I wanted to change my color scheme because there were potentially not enough resources to run Windows Aero. It recommended that I run the Windows 7 Basic color scheme. Does anyone have any idea why my FPS is so low? Thanks.
Here are the specs:

Most important question here is, what graphical settings are you running at while running at 1080p? A 6870 is going to struggle on that game still, on higher - higher settings.
Second issue that catches my eye is the fact that it lists your gpu clock at only 300mhz during playing.... thats not right at all and would be your issue assuming the program is accurate. However, the fact that it reports you have zero memory, and 0% usage also make me weary of the programs accuracy.Main PC: AMD FX-8350 / 16gb DDR3 1600 / AMD 7970GE 1200mhz Core & 1600mhz Mem / Win7 Pro 64bit
File Server: AMD Opteron 180 / 3gb DDR400 / Nvidia 6200 / WinXP Home 32bit / Lubuntu 12.10
Laptop: HP-Compaq nc8430/ Intel CoreDuo T2400 / 2gb DDR2 667/ Ati x1600 / WinXP Pro 32bit

that and the GPU may have been running in a lower power state when getting that info, which could explain the lower clock speeds.

You are both correct on the in-accurateness of the GPU dump.
1) Crysis was alt-tabbed, in windowed mode and while not in that screen the game automatically pauses itself (goes to menu screen) so that explains the low clock.
I ran the same GPU test this morning but using a different method (game wasn't paused). Results below.
I've seen youtube videos of my vcard running crysis full settings (3 monitors even), can you run it says I can run beyond recommended setting, and the game's auto-detect setting sets all graphic options to high, so I KNOW I can run this.
Strangely as of this morning the game is running smoothly.... 1280x1024, AA is off, and all graphic options set to high (these were the settings when the game was running slowly as well). The game is now running @44FPS avg.

Clock is up to 915MHz which is factory default. I did a number of things so I'm not sure what 'fixed' it.
-Under the vcard's SmartDoctor settings I checked the 'Overclocking range enhancement box'
-I'm running the game off of the CD and not the Crysis64.exe in the 64bin folder
-I broke my card a few times trying to overclock it. It's currently set back to defaults
-I set the Windows 7 color scheme to Windows 7 Basic as it recommended. As of last night, despite which color scheme it was set to (Basic or Aero), the FPS did not increase. So, again, not really sure what did it, but it's working as of now. But, for my own amusement do either of you know what might have 'fixed' it? And thanks for the responses!

might be the exe off the CD, since the game is 32-bit mainly, the 64-bit exe, which is what I used to run, along with it in DX10 mode, really only lets the game run with a bit more RAM I think, I don't know if the 64-bit exe really truly runs the game in 64-bit or not.
but if your running off the CD, its most likely running in 32-bit mode, which is fine.
you can actually run in 32-bit installed to the hard drive like 64-bit as well. Might just be some compatibility issues with running 64-bit mode on that card.
When I was running my GTX 285, which is probably close to that 6870 minus the DX11 support, I was always running 64-bit mode, DX10 mode, and at 1080p, with most settings on mid to high (Depending on the settings), along with AA set to 2x and/or 4x and usually got around 30-40fps while playing, if I remember right.
but that was 2 years ago, haven't played the game since (I got to a point in the game, towards the last half where the game would always crash no matter what I did, so I gave up on it).i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

My GTX 285 and Overclocked i7 920 easily runs Crysis at max settings at 1920x1080. I get between 40-50 fps. Only near the end of the game inside the mountain with the alien base where all the crystals are did the game slow down into the teens.
Up until that point I was even running all of the photo realistic graphic enhancement mods. I had to uninstall those to be able to finish the game as it would bring my fps down into the single digits near the end.
Crysis 2 plays even smoother (60fps).
The GTX 285 and 6870 are on par speed wise. The 6780 is newer and adds DX11 support.

Yeah that was the same part where I was that it kept crashing on me.
Though, my I7 920 wasn't overclocked, so that might of been why I wasn't able to get the same frame rates with simlilar hardware.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

I'm guessing it's a combo of drivers, and the GPU only having 1GB of V-ram. Generally the 285's have more then that even.

EDIT:
Also GPU usage shows pretty low in those numbers. That could be related to drivers also.Q6600@4Ghz | i7 920@4.4Ghz |E6320@3.5Ghz

As of this moment Crysis is still running on x8AA, 1920x1200 and very high all settings @25-30, sometimes up to 60FPS in close quarters. But before I played around with the different Crysis.exe bit versions for a while and got these results:
-Running Crysis64.exe from bin folder resulted in an immediate crysis crash
-Running Crysis from CD occasionally resulted in a black screen/computer freeze
-Running Crysis.exe from the 32bin folder resulted in an occasional black screen/computer crash (but it has been working just fine now)
So it just sorta fixed itself.. something changed obviously, but whether I had something to do with it or not I don't know. Regardless, all responses are appreciated - they led me in a few different directions to research.
And for the record: this card for the price is mean! It's my first video card purchase ever, but I'm impressed with the output. I assume most computer games on highest settings now go beyond what this card, or two in crossfire, can handle, but to me it feels like just yesterday when running Crysis on high/very high settings was a feat. A second one is on its way; hopefully for some triple monitor, higher fps, very high/ultra settings. We'll see when I learn to overclock (crosses fingers). Thanks all!

The two cards should both use the same driver install. With Afterburner, I know it will work on the non-MSI card as individually installed with no manufacturer lockout, but I don't know if it...
