Alt-tabbing issue
Hey guys, I've come to you hoping you might be able to help me. Ever since I bought this computer which was around April of this year, I've had a major issue with alt-tabbing while playing a game. It doesn't matter what game, what maker, what quality, etc... If I'm playing a game and alt-tab out of it, I literally have to play the lottery with the game in order to get back in, it doesn't matter if I click the game, try to alt-tab back in, or do any kind of key combination, It's literally a 1/100 chance that I'll get back into the game.
This makes it infuriating to play online games competitively especially if I have some mouse or other random issue and HAVE to tab out, I get screwed. It does occur less often in windowed mode, however it still happens. Is there any chance any of you might have the answer?
Thank you in advance for any responses,
A gamer in need

This may sound silly, but have you tried alt-tabbing to the game, and then alt-tabbing to it again? I have to do that with most of my games.

Yes I have and it is still like playing the lottery, except this form is usually less successful than spam clicking.

Hm. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Have you tried searching the Windows 7 support site?

I run into this problem every so often with certain games, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't, its totally random, and it is a real pain in the butt when it does happen, over the years I've never found a solution for it, With Windows 7 and Windows XP, so its one of those things you need to just deal until a solution can be found.

Gotta agree with the others here. This has been an ongoing issue for years for me, but only on some games, and it's pretty random.
Only game it consistently happens on is Skyrim, however alt tabbing in and out one more time fixes it each time.Main PC: AMD FX-8350 / 16gb DDR3 1600 / AMD 7970GE 1200mhz Core & 1600mhz Mem / Win7 Pro 64bit
File Server: AMD Opteron 180 / 3gb DDR400 / Nvidia 6200 / WinXP Home 32bit / Lubuntu 12.10
Laptop: HP-Compaq nc8430/ Intel CoreDuo T2400 / 2gb DDR2 667/ Ati x1600 / WinXP Pro 32bit

Ive had this issue also a few times, sometimes if alt tabbing dosen't do the trick ill just alt F4, i mostly blame this issue on my computer being **** tho lol
Only thing i can think ov is maybe your running a pirated version of windows?

Why would that make a difference?
Personally I've noticed more problems with Steam based games. I've never had a problem with an MMO like wow or eve.Good job, friend-of-friends!

Yeah I definitely notice it most with steam games, no my Windows copy is not pirated, the number of times I alt-tab does not affect it and I haven't played an mmo on this computer but I did have the issue on Diablo III, I'm hoping to find a fix before GW2 comes out though. Thanks for the feedback though guys, maybe someday the fix will be discovered.
