    DVD player

TV will no longer automatically switch to AV when I turn on my DVD player. Can anyone please advise on how to sort this out? I have it connected via a scart lead and red/white and yellow cables are plugged into 'line in' on the tv. The Tv and DVD are both Samsungs.

Has anything changed in the way you have things set up? Is there a TV setup menu with an option to automatically switch to line in?

Posting the make and model of the TV and DVD player would be useful too...

The Samsung website can't find either of those numbers as a model number.

Are the numbers on a tag that looks like this?

I looked in the TV manual found here. I don't see anything that specifically addresses this. Can you manually change to Line In? Maybe if you set it as the default setting it will go there whenever there's a signal from the DVD player.

I looked at the menu on the tv control. There are options for 'ext 1/ext 2 and AV. If I select the AV option would that fix it? At the moment I have to scroll through all 3 to get to av. Thanks for your help

Often, a scart lead can come just a little loose, and it can cause problems such as your lack of switching or picture loss or sound loss.
Try making sure the scart leads are firmly plugged all the way in.

It sounds like you are using scart to component video leads. This type will not pass the switching voltage to your TV set. You need a scart to scart lead, the type with scart plugs at both ends.

I have checked the scart lead and it is secure from the DVD to the tv. All the video leads are plugged in properly. I am using a scart lead with plugs at both ends. I can change the tv to the av channel manually. But i'm just perplexed as to why it WAS automatically switching and now its stopped... doesnt make sense . Any other ideas please?
