Question about FTP

Hi,
I just installed Serv-U FTP on my system. I forwarded port 21 on my Lynksys router and set Serv U to passive mode. When I had a friend log on the best download speed he could get was 15k. I have Comcast cable, and supposedly have 1.5mb down and 128k up. How do I get the upstream to something more respectible like 80-100k? I am running XP Pro. Is there a setting somewhere to get I should adjust? Thanx in advance for any replies!!!!!!

It may just be the service. Do you have faster uploads using anything else? i.e. DCC on IRC, FTP puts, things of that nature.

Your upload is in kilobits...the download shows kilobytes.
There is 8 bits in a byte.
128 kilobits / 8 = 16 kilobytes

the speed is correct

Thanx for the replies!! 15k is just not going to cut it. I'll have to look into business dsl with a static ip to get the consistant upload speeds I need. Any other ideas? Thanx again!!
