Can't clear enough space to install Acronis

I'm trying to clone my friend's small SSD onto a larger one. There's not enough free space on the old drive to install Acronis True Image HD -- and everything I do to move stuff off it (documents, pictures, useless programs, whatever), which should have freed up at least 2 GB, still comes back with as little free space as before. What's causing this? Or at least, what can I do to clone the drive anyway?

Never mind. I downloaded CCleaner and it did the job.
