Mandrake 9.0 live update errors! Need help!
I recently tried to upgrade from Linux Mandrake 8.2 to Mandrake 9.0. Everything was going smoothly and working great until installation was a good way finished. I began to receive error messages one after the other such as
there was an error installing libopenjade...
there was an error installing libdbcxx3_...
there was aserror sinstalling licecpg3...
there was an error installing myspell_en_ca...
there was an error installing libQgtcl...
etc, etc, etc
What would cause this? Needless to say, I can not get into my Linux directory now. It gets as far as the Welcome to Linux Mandrake dialog then freezes.(good thing I have dual boot!)
I could probably use the boot disk to get back to 8.2, but is this going to happen again? Should I just stick w/ 8.2 and not worry about the 9.0 upgrade, or just do a complete 9.0 install, no upgrade from 8.2?

I think I would just do a complete re-install. Try 9.0 and see if you can't make it work. Otherwise you could always go back to 8.2 later.
I WAS going to try upgrading to 9.0 here tonight..... you talked me out of it
I will do a complete re-install after I make sure I have everything backed up on my old emails etc.
Make sure on your dual boot that you install on hdb ....... and not hda ...... otherwise you'll be needing to reinstall windows again
