    Question WIN98, NO SOUND

     
    I just installed windows 98 on my Dell L866r, and it cant see the onboard sound..what do i do?

    Gonna need some more info here.

    Did you install the drivers for the sound?
    Does the Device Manager show the sound card or an unknown device?
    Do you get a little speaker down by the time?

    Are you saying it doesn't show in Device manager? If it's in the DM you may jus have to install drivers for it. It might be listed as an unknow device or simular. If not first check your bios to make sure it didn't get disabled, next try add/remove hardware and see if it will detect it.

    You should have a service tag number on the pc somewhere. Once you find go here and key it in. This will get you to all of the downloads necessary.
