Boot with a floppy (get one here ) and at the prompt type "format c:" no quotes, and answer yes. |

Hello:
If it's an ide drive, the best you can do is delete the partitions with fdisk and put them back.
The safest thing to do is make a startup disk that has all the drivers for the cd on the floppy.
Make sure the floppy startup works . Backup any files you want to save.
Then, when you know the startup disk works, you can delete the partitions with fdisk. Reboot the machine and re-make the partitions with fdisk. Reboot and format the partitions and then switch to the cd drive letter and run install from the ME cd.
That will clean off your drive.

If you have a Western Digital HDD .... it comes with a Floppy that has GREAT formatting utilities ...... quicker than old DOS .... that formats and partitions in a fraction of the time !!!! |

No, but it needs to be empty. Just format your floppy then make your boot disk.
