I know there is some way to lock the computer out so that other people can't use it when I step away from it. could someone tell me how to do it.
I'd prefer somethign a little more secure then a screen saver password.
thanks

What OS version are you running? if you are running NT, 2K or XP you can use the "Lock Workstation" option using "ctl+alt+del" keys. This will require either your password or that of the administrator to unlock the computer.
If you are running win9x or ME, i dont think there is really any better way to lock your computer than the screen saver password with out installing maybe some third pary software.

What is your OS?
BTW, Some Compaq business models offer a BIOS type lock you can do while the OS is up (with a certain key combination).
Why isn't the screen saver lock acceptable, do you know a way around it?

well... i think dvnt1 that if I lock the computer using the "lock workstation" option, it closes network connections too. That sounds good to me. ...
that being said, i'm using XP, and I used ctl+alt+del, and the option isn't htere... suggestions?

Locking the computer using the previously mentioned method does not stop network access.
