missing vxd's??

well the corrupt files have stopped, but now on bootup its saying it cannot find vnetsup.vxd, vredir.vxd, and dfs.vxd.
After windows loads up it then says "Unable to load the dynamic link library, msnp32.dll. What do i do??
What makes this happen?? I had to reformat my hard drive due to some corrupt files before and im hoping it wont happen again.
Will upgrading to xp help me out???
Also is there any real benifit over xp pro than just with xp home?? I just play games and watch movies.
thanks,
franklin

very common problem actually
the easiest way to resolve it, is to uninstall and reinstall Dialup Networking

Hmm... looks like an install problem.
Suggestion: 1>Borrow a computer - either from your mother, your grandmother or your fairy godmother for that matter - one that has the same OS as yours.
2> Make a startup disk by getting a formatted blank floppy disk then go to START - SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL - ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS - STARTUP DISK. Follow the instructions and you've got your wINDOWS 98 STARTUP DISK.
3> Test your startup disk by inserting it to your computer, and restarting your computer with the startup disk inside. You know the starup disk works if you see a menu offering to boot with or without support for CD-ROM drive. Turn off your `borrowed' computer.
4> Put the startup disk in your computer's floppy drive and start. You can now either A> Re-install your Windows 98 or B> Upgrade to XP.
Hope this helps
