Have got colorado / primax 9600 USB scanner and have tried numerous drivers including WIN2000, unfortunately scanner is recognised in the "Hardware devices system" and is reported to be functioning perfectly....but cannot be used by the O/S.
USB Web cam - similar USB connection works well and can be used to take snaps etc. using Camera / Scanner wizard .. but no direct access to the Primax / Colorado USB scanner in spite of fully functioning hardware profile!
Un-install / Re-install does not work but still the hardware system reports that the scanner is functioning well.
I will try the printer & other hardware installation wizard tonight, after deleting the drivers and hope to let you know the result ... P.S. don't hold your breath!!!
Is there some other imaging software required for this device to work, I have the original WIN98SE install disk but no luck.
TWAIN facility is installed, again no luck.
