Registry Editor has been disabled by administrator

That's the message I get when I try to run regedit on a Windows 2000 machine. Probably caused by the big virus problem the machine had. How do I re-enable the registry editor?

If your on a domain, then your administrator has just enforced such a group policy which disables your ability to edit registry.

If you're not, you - or someone else - has made a change in the local computer that registry cannot be edited.

I don't remember where to change the setting but numerous handy programs will do it for you, eg. system security.
