HP Laptop always locking up!! GOING CRAAAAAZZZZZYYYY!!!!

I have a HP PAVILLION ZF125 laptop with windows XP operating system. this thing iis always locking up when i am on the internet. its really bad when i leave the internet on for a period of time but pretty much all the time what is going on??????

anways have you updated internet explorer? what do you have running in the background? what are the specs of the machine?

system type:x86 based PC
processor:x86 family 6 model 7 stepping 1 authenic AMD~999mhz
total physical memory:384.00 MB
available physical memory 138.00MB
total virtual memory 1.3GB
available virtual memory 846.61

When was the last time you did some house cleaning ?

Scandisk, Defragment, Dump Temporary internet files ?

With the very small amount of available hard drive left this is very important.
