| Video wont play in Shockwave movies.
I have a Shockwave movie (saved as a projector file), which plays an MPEG video from one of the frames. I’ve recorded it onto a CD-R, and it plays without problems on my main computer (1200MHZ, 256MB RAM, 48X ASUS CD-RW). You can see how it should be in screenshot1 (I cut out all the content, and the image from the actual video wont show up in a screenshot, but it was there). I try it on my second computer (200MHZ, 256MB RAM, 32X Creative CD-RW) and when it comes to play the video, I get what you see in screenshot2. And BTW I can’t click the play button. It does nothing. Testing it on another computer (1300MHZ, 256MB RAM, 52X Mitsubishi CD-ROM) I initially got a black screen where the video should be. Then next time it worked; now it suffers from the problem I’m trying to fix now. Also tried it in a laptop of unknown specs (Toshiba, $1000AU used, from a shop), which did the same thing. Tried it on another one (500MHZ, 64MB RAM, 50X Mitsubishi CD-ROM) and it would also not work. And another (166MHZ, 128MB RAM, 24X CD-ROM), which did work. All machines are running Windows98, and using QuickTime versions 5 or 6.
On my second computer, I copied the files off the CD onto the HDD. Ran the .exe and found that the video works partly. The video comes up like it should, but doesn’t move off of the first frame. Anybody have a solution to that? I thought it might just be the computer, because for 200MHZ it’s extremely slow, and it has being doing it all along. If it matters, the CD-R that I’m using is an Imation 80mm 24X max.
So, can anybody offer me some help here? I'm desperate |
