    RAM dropping?

When I originally installed the RAM in my current setup the system properties said I had 1024 Megabytes of RAM. It seems to drop a couple of megs every other day or so. After a few days it said I only had 1022 and then, a few days later, 1018. Currently it says 1015. I have two matching sticks of 512 each, purchased new from Abertek at www.goos.com. Any ideas about what is going on?

The machine, so far, seems to be running okay but, if this keeps up, I'll be down to zero in a couple of months.

If it's in Windows your seeing the drop...well sorta comes with the teritory. Windows uses memory about as well as Bill Gates does his hair. Which is to say not very well.

Well, it's late and I shut the machine down for the night. I will check the BIOS in the morning and see what it says.

G'night and thanks for the fishes.

BIOS is still showing the original RAM of 1048xxxKB. Even Sisoft Sandra only sees 1015 now. Don't know what is happening! This is making my head hurt.

If the BIOS see's it as the correct size then I don't think they're damaged. I bet thats just good 'ol Windows giving ya a hard time.
