XPerience with Elite Duo mapping??
I recently bought a Logitech Cordless Elite Duo. Sofar, this thing has really been a blast to mess around with, definitely a nice perif. However, this keyboard is lacking something very suprising..... a sleep/standby button. With all the extra buttons they put on this thing, why not a standby button??? To give Logitech the benefit of the doubt, there is a 'user' button with a moon shape on it, which lends me to believe this button was originally intended to be dual purpose; never-the-less I was told by Logitech email support that this button is not programmable and it's sole purpose is to switch users.(windows XP.... of course)

I am hoping that some more geeky person than I has bought one of these sets and wondered the same thing? Better yet, if they have done something about it. I'd even be happy to reprogram one of the other iTouch buttons if the is any such thing as a "standby.exe" file to map it to. If my crappy old Compaq keyboard could tell my hand-built system to sleep, then why wouldn't this one be able to? Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

On my logitech elite keyboard (not wireless duo mind you) the user key actually puts my system on standby (I'm on XP as well) it did it by default though, without any of the software installed. Maybe if you have the logitech keyboard software installed, uninstall it and see what the button does?

Thanks bakahams7er. I did what you said and sure enough the button will sleep my system by default when pressed. But I am really reluctant to abandon the iTouch software just for this feature when it really does provide more utility for the keyboard.... and otherwise it runs well.
I did some sleuthing, and found that there is a logoff app in the Windows/system32 folder, which closes all programs and logs off the user, rather than just switching user as if the button is iTouch programmed. And there is a 'shutdown' app, but this appears to be for shutting down remotely. This is even more confusing because I didn't see anything related to switching users, sleeping/standby/suspend, etc.
Some food for thought...... Could these exe's be found somewhere more towards a BIOS/ACPI feature rather than a windows feature?? And if so, WHERE?? Or...... could I just mess with the software in some way to remove any modification that iTouch did make to the default button???
This is so bizarre!
What a pain
