| New System!! help! what ya think?
Hi,
I finally ordered the parts for my brand new Shuttle MiniPC! At first I got the Shuttle SS40G barebones and I hated it, it was defective both times from Tigerdirect.com and the graphics were horrible. I returned it and decided to order the newer version, Shuttle MiniPC SN41G2. It has the new NVidia Chipset. Well, I'm I got all the parts and finally the Shuttle MiniPC SN41G2 has shipped from Outpost.com.
Here is the specs, tell me if you like it or hate it or have any suggestions:
Shuttle XPC Barebones SN41G2(NVidia Nfocrce Chipset!)
Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 80GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache
512MB PC2100 Memory
Kworld PCI TV Tuner Card
ViewSonic VA520 15in Flat Screen Monitor
AMD Athlon XP 1800+ Processor
LinkSYS Wireless USB Adapter
LG 32x24x12x16x DVD-ROM-CD-RW Combo Drive
ArcticSilver 3 thermal paste
Shim
AltecLansing 5.1 Sound Surrond Speaker system (Model: 251)
Dell Logitech Wireless Mouse and Keyboard
I'm not trying to show off here lol. This will be probably be my last system i'm building in a long time...
I'll be posting up some pictures when I build it tommorrow after school! I can't wait... meanwhile.. What do you think about this system specs, good or bad? Any suggestions??? Thanks everyone!!

It sounds pretty nice. I want to know how it all works, because I'm considering one myself. (I'd have gone for the Athlon XP 2000+, though.) |

Unfortunally, it only has 1 PCI slot and 1 AGP slot. I don't use a modem anymore, because I have broadband internet. I will use my laptop for modem uses.. The PCI slot will be filled with the TV Tuner card thanks |

I have an older model but built one for a friends wife for Xmas using a SS51+ P42.53/512XMSddr/ATI 9700/DVD-CDRW combo/120WD8meg with a Klipche soundsystem and an 18" LCD---total overkill, id say since Xmas she might have sent 3 maybe 4 emails with it...
REAL nice setup tho that totally kicks butt in a small space---I see scaled down systems becoming much more popular as more folk become tired of funky beige boxes... |

Good luck Paul!
Please let us know how you like it and overall performance. I've been using the n-force2 with great results. I'm considering going with that setup for my folks.
Is it loud? Temp problems? Install problems? |

Tim:
I've been looking at that same Shuttle as well. Thinking about putting one of those Sony DRU-500A drives, and a multi-card reader in the floppy slot. (Gotta sell a couple of systems first).
