XP keeps restarting

Hi ,
first of all thanks to all who gave me advice on installing XP. All went nice and smooth. Too smooth, after using the PC, and clicking shutdown, the PC keeps restarting. And this was not the case in my previous operation system, windows 2000 !
I had the same problem in the beginning with 2000, but don't remember how I solved this.
Hibernate and APM are enabled, ups is currently stopped.
Some advice ??
Thanks

I started out typing a response... but I realized it might be easier to link to a site that has clear instructions

You may be experiencing an error when you shut down, in which Windows will automatically restart. You can disable that here:
Windows XP Restarts Unexpectedly or Restarts When You Shut Down the Computer

Or.. take a look at the:
Windows XP Shutdown Troubleshooter

Let us know what works (or what doesn't!)

OK, here some strange things. On the specific website mentioned above they say this can happen when Logitech mouseware ot Adaptec Direct CD are installed. Well, I hate to say it but I use them both !
I also unchecked the system restart box, and this results in a blue screen, what says reset your bios to .....
I will try first with Logitech mouseware removal.
Specs from PC are pentium 2, 500 Mhz. 556 Ram.

Problem solved

After some more research, this was the soution. Downloaded a update for Adaptec CD Directed, downloaded a newer mouseware version, for XP and all works OK. Pc shuts down normal.
