| How can I find out my IP address in XP Pro
In win 98 I could go to network settings and find it out, but now it is so buried somewhere in XP that I cannot find out what my IP address is. Also, winipcfg no longer works form the command line. Please tell me where I can go to find this out.
Regards,

Start>settings>network connections>click on your connection>then "support" itl show your IP address there...
--->Yeah I think this will only show your internal networking addresses...

Here is the code that I used on that page in case anyone wants it. Your server MUST support server side includes and your web page should have the .shtml extension. Server side includes are fun to play with Code: Your IP address is:<font color="red">
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
<!-- Begin Script
var ipaddress = '<!--#echo var="REMOTE_ADDR"-->';
document.write(ipaddress);
//--> End Script
</SCRIPT> |

If you're on a network, those links will show your gateway's internet IP address, but it won't show your computer's IP. A sure-fire way to get that is from the command line, as already stated. |

When i try ipconfig from "run" it runs so fast i cannot read the screes. How do I get to a DOS prompt in XP Pro, or is there a / command i can give to slow it down. I tried /p and /pause, but no good.
What I need are the internal IP addresses, so going to control pael, netorking, and clicking on the connection shows the ip on the left side of the scrren. that;'s good.. and will probably do. |
