Just started building a new system for my sister and am having problems getting Windows XP Pro to install. I installed it previously using a different motherboard but was unhappy with that. Upgraded the mobo and of course got the M$ blue screen and couldn't get into windows. Took the hard drive out and put it into my PC and formatted her drive. Took it out and put it in her system and started the Windows XP Pro installation. Everything goes fine until it reboots. Enter BIOS and change boot up order to the hard drive and it gets to the initializing screen where it recognises the hardware(HDD, DVD drive, and CDRW drive) then it flashes to roughly this:
invalid boot.ini file
booting from C media
NTDETECT Failed
This screen flashes very fast and reboots. Any ideas? Here are the specs:
AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.4Ghz CPU
256 MB Crucial PC2100 DDR
ASUS A7V266
80GB Maxtor 7200 rpm ATA 133 HDD
Gainward GeForce 2 Ti 64mb dr
Lite-On 16x DVD drive
Sony 48x24x48 CDRW drive
Windows XP Pro-at least attempting to anyway
