| Windows XP Crash but no ReBoot
alright, my wife has an HP pavillion 760n, with a microtec scanner (4800) attached. I tried to scan a picture using the buttons on the front of the scanner but the cpu froze, rebooted, went through chkdsk and fixed a couple of problems. Not too worried about the problems found and fixed, more interested in the fact that the damn thing will not reboot now???? It goes to the WinXP screen but after that it goes blank and then reboots, constantly!!! Tried safe mode and did not work, tired recovery console, did not work, tried with 98 boot disk to use scandsk /surface and that did not work, pulling hair out and contemplating suicide any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

You tried unplugging the scanner and then booting the machine?

lol.thats the way to go...*** man you have a problem..do you have like a recovery cd>? since it is an hp Please do not use profanity on the forums it is not allowed. I also deleted your first post that offered nothing and was of no help to the original question. In the future if you have no answer or help please do not post.

Btw...welcome to TechIMO SunDizzle...too bad it's not on better circumstances!
Did you get a chance to try rebooting after unplugging the scanner? |
