| PC wont power on!!! Plz Help me!!!
OK its my fault, i didnt mean to but i did it.
I was playing around in the bios of my Epox 8RDA + and i saw this cool thing called keyboard power on. So i set it to password power on, where u type in a password to turn on the computer. What i didnt know was that it bypasses the power button!!!
Now im stuck with the computer not turning on at all!
Ive tried unplugging the comp from the wall, cmos clearing and taking out the battery and still nothing. I still cant turn it on!! i need it for assessment that is due this week!!! PLZ help me..
Ive also tried button mashing the keyboard trying to fluke the password, tried "password" still nothing, tried "12345" still nothing....
Shouldnt cmos clearing clear this booboo i made in the bios, ive left the battery out and the cmos clear jumper in position for over 45 mins, put it all back in and still nothing, sometimes it turns on for about two seconds then powers down . What have i done???
Please give me some help im in desperate need of that computer this weekend.
Thanks in advance.

Wow, that's a new one on me.
How about pulling the all the power from the board?
Completely disconnect all the plugs from board then pull the battery out.
I have no idea what else you could do, there have been problems with some of the nForce2 BIOS's, never heard of this one though.
I played with that feature before on other boards and it worked the way it was supposed to, I finally disabled it because I was tired of typing my password in to boot the comp.

Try to clear the CMOS, then pull out the battery from your MoBo (about 10 minutes or so) then boot your system without the battery in ..
I think an error message will come up telling you to reset the date and time, then save .. you might get access ..
I know someone did it successfully with a laptop ..
Give it a try ..
Also check this site http://www.cgsecurity.org/
Good luck .. |

Kenkun ur a champion, thanks heaps for the help. Ur my hero dude lol. nah serious i woulda been pretty screwed. Thanks for ur help with the speedy replies, this place is always great for getting help.
Its up and running now, no more fiddling with bios from now on during assessment time for me. All i went in there for was to get rid of the "ac97 speaker @ boot" noise and got sidetracked as usual.
Thanks heaps man. |

Glad it worked for you dude ..
Now to another advice .. when you are bored, play with anything but your BIOS or system registry |
