I still think I would try using the System Restore feature first, if you have it running, and see if your system gets restored to some point before the audio driver installation.
If that fails, you could try removing both of those devices in Device Manager, reboot, and hopefully let them be autodetected again.
Hmmm. . .if your drives aren't recognized, or the drivers are corrupted or missing, you won't be able to access either of them.
I'm wondering if your XP installation CD will load a CD driver, so perhaps you can use the Update Driver option for each of those drives, and point it toward the drive with the XP disk in it.
I'm thinking off the top of my head,(always dangerous!). Someone here might be able to instruct you on how to extract those driver files from the XP disk - I just don't do it much.
You'lll get other suggestions as well.
Just curious - do you have a branded PC like Dell, HP, etc., that you purchased,(in which case you might want to use your CD Restore disk), or is it one you or someone else built?
