I had a system built with the following:
Enermax ATX Case with Window and Neon Light
SunPak 300 WATT PSU (180 Max)
MSI KT3-Ultra2
AMD Athlon XP 1800+ (Pal core)
MSI GeForce2 MX400 (with TV OUT) 64 MB DDR AGP
1 Rounded Blue Floppy Cable
2 Vantec Red Rounded IDE Cables
Thermal Take Volcano 7 HSF Combo
256 MB Crucial PC333 (PC7000) Memory
20 GB Maxtor HD (Desktop Series)
56x Acer CDRom Drive (AKA BenQ)
JustLink 48x12x48 CD-RW Drive
Iomega Zip 100 (cant live without it!)
DLink Network Card (cant remember model)
Sound Blaster Live! X-Gamer (Pre 5.1 Model)
I recently added the Volcano 7 HSF when I ran across that
my PSU was under powered. Then my HD died (kept shutting off, so I assumed the PSU). I added a WD Drive 7200 RPM 40GB drive. IT works now so far. I bought a Antec TruePower 430 Watt PSU (410 WATT MAX) to replace. Is this a PSU to work with? Just wanna have a second opinion before I put it in.
I also sold my SB Live X-Gamer card because the Joy stick port sucks and doesn't work. So I purchased a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz to replace it. I choose it because of the reviews and how the black noise sounds go away when you have your speakers all the way up. Was this a good decision?
I also bought (for looks) an "jimmy Neutron" ATomic Symbol Grill that is stainless steel and shiny. I love it.
Can I have your opinions on the equipment before I install it?
Also, I bought the incorrect 3d cooling system for my video card. Does anyone know what works with it? You can look at my photo in the gallery to see what I mean. look for the blue hsf and the black hsf. The brand and model is at the top. I would like to clean this up and finish my project! ... well some kinda of project lol |

The Antec power supply is a great choice
The WD drive is good, but make sure that it has some airflow nearby, since they tend to run warm (my 30Gb WD RAID array does).
The Turtle Beach is a very highly rated sound card, good choice
I'm not really into the fancy fan grills, I think that they would cut airflow, but that is just IMHO
Overall, I would say excellent choices

Where is the side fan located? If it's over the video card, I would flip it around so that it blows cool outside air directly at the video card, and then flip your rear fan so that it's an exhaust fan. Also add another exhaust fan above the first one in that open spot.
Also, get a stickon wire anchor and pull that wire bundle going to the motherboard up against the power supply, to get it out of the airflow path.

No. the HSF for the video card is on the top (botton of GPU). I lost the retaining clips for the Heat Sink and so I used it to keep it on. I wanted to know if there is a square version of this cooler for this card. Frys only sells one for the GeForce4 thus it will not work with my GeForce2. That is not my new PSU thats an old picture. I am trying to clean it up so I will be done. |

No I have Rounded Cables now. Its been updated but the HSF hasn't I took off the fan and used the retaining clips from the fan to keep it on. I would like to get a cooler for the GPU on the card. |
